Biography
Burgrove had moved to Hastings by March 1393, since it was as a resident there that he then obtained from Robert Knight his reversionary interest in two messuages at Battle, for which he gave in exchange another property in the same town. In the following year he acquired land and rents at Hooe, and as a Portsman he was able to claim exemption from parliamentary fifteenths levied under Henry V, both for his holdings at Hove and others at Fairlight.2
