Biography
In April 1417 John Valeys ‘senior’ and his wife conveyed a house in Wilton to John Valeys ‘junior’, probably their son. The younger man had, ever since April 1415, held property in the borough as co-tenant of John Harleston* and others, and it could have been he, rather than the older John, who stood surety for the attendance of Harleston at each of the five Parliaments which met in and between 1420 and 1423, although it was certainly the latter who had sat in the Commons at Leicester in 1414.2
