Biography
As a young man of 20, Bellasis was returned for Thirsk, some eight miles from the family seat, no doubt through the influence of his father, who represented the borough in the three preceding Parliaments. On this occasion Sir Henry was himself returned for Aldborough, so that both father and son were in Parliament together. Thomas stood down in 1601, when his father sat for Thirsk for the fourth time. A Royalist who fought at Marston Moor, Thomas died a Catholic 18 Apr. 1653.
