Returned for Totnes while young, Buggin was only 31 when he died in 1603, being buried at Totnes on 11 July. By his will, dated 29 June of that year, he bequeathed £3 to the poor of his town and another £3 to the poor of the Totnes Magdalene almshouse, left money to various relations and provided £100 annuities for his wife and daughter. He owned a quarter of the manor of Pridhamsleigh, Devon, which he left to his brother William, together with other land in Devon and Cornwall. His house in Totnes went to his wife, the executrix.
