Biography
Marmaduke Alington, of an old East Anglian family,1 was family lawyer to the Drakes of Shardeloes.2 On their interest he was returned as a Tory for Amersham in 1728 at a by-election caused by the death of Montague Garrard Drake, whose heir was a child. His only known vote was against the excise bill in 1733 and he did not stand again. He died 5 Sept. 1749.
