Biography
Henry Holmes was returned for Newtown by his brother Thomas Holmes in 1741, voting with the Administration in all recorded divisions. The second Lord Egmont wrote of him in his electoral survey, 1749-50:
He ... is cordially against us and intimate with the most malignant of their people - but he has a regiment.
He died 11 Aug. 1762.
