Biography
Trefusis, a naval officer, was returned at Grampound by the Administration, voting with them on the Spanish convention in 1739 and on the place bill in 1740. He was defeated at Grampound in 1741, petitioning unsuccessfully. In June 1744 he was appointed extra commissioner of the navy resident at Port Mahon, a temporary office created as the scene of naval operations was transferred to the Mediterranean. He came home towards the end of 1747, and in July 1748 was placed on the superannuated list with the rank and half pay of a rear-admiral.1 He died 21 Apr. 1754.
