Biography
Firebrace was returned unopposed in 1754, and was classed by Dupplin as a Tory. Although no speech by him is recorded after 1754—only an intention in May 1755 to move an address against the King’s journey to Hanover, ‘prevented by a sudden adjournment’,1 he is included in Newcastle’s list of ‘speakers and efficient men’ (30 May 1757), and is placed in Pitt’s group.2 He died 28 Mar. 1759.
