Biography
Sneyd was of an old Staffordshire parliamentary family, and his return for Castle Rising was arranged by his uncle Richard Bagot, whose wife, Frances Howard, grand-daughter of the 11th Earl of Suffolk, controlled one seat in the borough. Sneyd was classed in William Adam’s list of May 1784 as ‘Administration’. He voted with the Opposition on Pitt’s Irish propositions, 13 May 1785, but with Administration on the Regency, 1788-9. He is not known to have spoken in the House, nor did he stand again in 1790.
He died 23 June 1829.
